...A Bit About Us
Holy Ground Electric is a small, family owned Electrical Contracting company located right here in the Old Pueblo. Our business model is simple; do it once, do it right. As you might have guessed from our moniker, we do have faith. The fact is, when we were thinking of a name for our business back in 2004, we were simply after a clever play on words. We do pray often however, mostly that we don’t electrocute ourselves! Our real inspiration comes from over 11 years in the US Army. We embrace the seven Army values in everything we do, and try to incorporate them in each and every one of our jobs. Loyalty Just what is loyalty? I like the definition of loyalty provided by Fred Reichheld in his book, The Loyalty Effect. He defines loyalty as the willingness to make an investment or personal sacrifice to strengthen a relationship. When it comes to our relationship with our customers, we will always do the right thing. It's easy to confuse longevity with loyalty. For instance, for a few years I ate at the same restaurant every week. To some |
| it
may have seemed that I was a loyal patron; however
nothing could have been further from the truth. The only
thing worse than the food was the service! I complained about it
to anyone who would listen and I only returned to this restaurant
because I was working the night shift and it stayed open late. The very
day another restaurant opened up nearby was the last day I ever ate
there. The point is that you need to scratch below the surface to find
out whether a company is loyal or not. Duty The obvious meaning is fulfilling your obligations, but the reality is much farther reaching. The essence of duty is acting in the absence of orders or direction from others, based on an inner sense of what is morally and professionally right, and accepting responsibility for your own actions. At Holy Ground Electric, we will always fulfill our obligation to do what’s right. Your job will get done, and it will get done right. Respect Treat people as they should be treated, simply put, rely upon the Golden Rule. How we consider others reflects upon each of us, both personally and as a professional organization. We may not always agree, but we will always treat our customers with respect. Service Selfless service leads to organizational teamwork and encompasses discipline, self-control and faith in yourself and your work. Selfless service means that we don’t make decisions or take actions based upon how much money we can get out of a customer. For a team to work, the individual has to give up self-interest for the good of the whole. We know that by always doing the right thing and putting our customers first, we will be rewarded tenfold by the word of mouth referrals. Honor What is life without honor? Degradation is worse than death. -Lieutenant General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson. Honor provides the “moral compass” for our character and our conduct, both personally and professionally. Though many people struggle to define the term, most recognize instinctively those with a keen sense of right and wrong, those who live such that their words and deeds are above reproach. At Holy Ground Electric, we strive to demonstrate an understanding of what’s right and take pride in that reputation. We promise to do your job right, and we will honor that promise. Integrity Do what’s right—legally and morally. Our customers rightly look to us not only to be skilled in the technical aspects of our job, but also to be a company of integrity. People of integrity consistently act according to principles—not just what might work at the moment. People of integrity do the right thing not because it’s convenient or because they have no choice, but because their character permits no less. Conducting our business with integrity includes separating what’s right from what’s wrong, always acting according to what we know to be right, even when no one’s looking, and stating openly that we are acting on our understanding of right versus wrong. Personal Courage Personal courage is defined by the Army as our ability to face fear, danger, or adversity, both physical and moral courage. Every time we go on a service call, we know that there have been untold electricians who have gone before us and who have been seriously hurt or killed on the job. We like to embrace the moral aspect of personal courage and strive to have the courage to always keep you, the customer, in mind when we are on a call. We strive to always do what’s right and believe in our motto; do it once, do it right. If you’re still reading, thanks for hanging in there. We would love to hear from you, so drop us a line on the contact page. Don’t forget us the next time you need your shorts checked!
